The AT Helpdesk is short for “Adaptive Technology” Helpdesk. It is a phone or email based service for anyone seeking general information and advice about technology that can assist people who are blind or have low vision.
The sorts of questions we get asked at the AT Helpdesk:
- How can I use the computer when I can’t see the screen?
- My screen reader isn’t talking, what’s wrong?
- How can I download audio books onto my iPod/iPad/Victor Reader/Plextalk Pocket?
- How do I make my documents accessible to students who are blind?
In some cases, the AT Helpdesk can troubleshoot your computer problems by remotely logging in to your computer at home. This can save a lot of time so you can get back on to the task at hand with little disruption.
The AT Helpdesk is available Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm (Eastern Standard Time).
