Applying for an NDIS package

What is the difference between self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed?

These are the three different ways you can choose to manage your NDIS funding.

We can talk through the three options with you so that you can decide which one is right for you.

Self-managed:

This means you access your NDIS funding yourself from the Myplace portal. You are responsible for tracking your plan spending, making claims and paying your providers. Usually, you will pay your service provider from your own funds and then seek reimbursement from the NDIA.

Plan managed:

If you choose this option, the NDIA will allow for funding in your plan for a Plan Manager who will access funding on your behalf, pay your providers for you and help you to track your spending.

NDIA managed:

The NDIA pays service providers on your behalf. If you choose this option, you must select from a list of NDIA approved providers for any equipment and services you access.
