Perth Theatre Trust continues to provide its Audio Description Service to patrons for the forthcoming production by The West Australian Opera of The Barber of Seville. Audio Description captures the visual elements of theatre performances by describing the ‘unheard’ aspects which are essential to understanding a story line. This service brings entertainment to life for people who are blind or vision impaired whilst being unobtrusive to the user. Users of the service are given a small earpiece and receiver into which they hear a volunteer describe aspects of the set, costumes and action. The service commences 10 minutes prior to the start of the performance so that the set and other elements can be described or sections of the programme can be read to the patron.

The opportunity to purchase tickets for the audio described performance closes on Friday 16 April 2021
